Instructions on How to Make Balloon Animals.
Balloon Animal Instruction
Making balloon animals is very tricky and requires prerequisite knowledge of the basic twists. If you are not familiar with the basic twists, check out the Types of Balloon Twists section of this website first, followed by the Simple Balloon Twisting Instruction section so that you can familiarize yourself with the fundamentals. Otherwise you won't have a clue as to what I am going to be disussing below.
I am going to show you how to make the most common balloon animal, the balloon dog. If you are going to become a professional balloon twister, you have to know how to make a balloon dog. It is the most fundamental and basic balloon animals you can make and it's perhaps the simplest one.
Go ahead and blow up a balloon, preferably a 260 balloon, and leave a long tail as shown in diagram A.

Next you are going to have to make three lock twists. You want to work your way from the left to the right when making these lock twists. Diagram B shows you the placement of these three twists.

Now you're going to have to twist a bubble for the nose and for the ears you will use a small lock twist. It should look something like that of diagram C.

For the neck part, you need to create a small bubble followed by a large lock twist which make up the front 2 legs as in diagram D.

To create the body of the balloon dog you will need to twist a larger bubble. Then the back legs are done with another lock twist as in diagram E.

Finally put a small ball in the tail and you are done. It should look closely similar to diagram F. Congratulations you have just made your first balloon animal.

The next balloon animal I will cover in this section will be the balloon bunny or balloon rabbit. This balloon animal is simple just like the balloon dog but it's a bit different so pay close attention to the diagram below.

Based on the skills you learned from the dog, you should be able to create this balloon bunny yourself by just applying the twists at the noted sections above. Your final piece should look similar to the picture below.

Now I would like to show you how to make a balloon animal monkey. The balloon monkey is a bit more challenging than the balloon dog and balloon bunny so I have designed a simple diagram that shows you which sections need twisting and which sections you will need to put through other sections. The end result will be quite impressive and will have you well on your way to making balloon animals at will. See if you can try it yourself by just using the diagram as a guide.

The balloon monkey should look close to the diagram below. You will have to paint on the eyes for added effect.

Again it is quite difficult to learn how to make balloon animals out of a book or website. You need a real balloon twister instructor or balloon twisting video in order for you to see how the techniques are actually done. A live instructional video is your best bet because you will have hours of prerecorded lessons that you can view over and over again until you get it right.
